The FTIISA staged a protest outside the screening venue by raising slogans and beating drums. They even had banners saying that "Propaganda", "Scripting Lies", and "It's Bait for Hate".

During the interaction with the audience, Sudipto Sen said that he spoke with the protesting students and asked the students to watch the film before criticising it or calling it a propaganda film.

The protesters even attempted to disrupt the screening during the screening.
