Gonna blast Mumbai very soon: Police receive threat on social media, accused in custody

Mumbai, May 23: In a shocking development, the Mumbai Police has said they have received an online threat from an unknown person who claimed to blast the city. The accused has been identified and taken into custody.

The police came across the threatening message around 11 am on Tuesday that was posted on Twitter. "I am gonna blast Mumbai very soon," it read.
 
 
 
After receiving the message, the police began investigating the account of the concerned person. They identified the person and took him into custody for interrogation. Further probe into the matter is on, police said.
 
"Mumbai Police received a threat around 11 am on May 22, after a person posted a threatening message on Twitter, "I am gonna blast the Mumbai very soon." The police have started investigating the concerned account.
Further investigation into this matter is underway," said Mumbai Police. 
 
Earlier the last year, the Maharashtra police has received a threat call to blow up three major railway stations in the city. As per the information, the caller said that a few people from Porbandar have come into the city and are planning to attack Dadar, Kurla and CSMT railway stations. Meanwhile, the police have taken the caller into custody from the Aurangabad district to understand if the caller is also a part of the gang that is allegedly planning the attack, and a thorough investigation is underway.
