New Delhi, May 29: In a horrifying crime that came to light in Delhi, a 16-year-old Hindu girl was stabbed more than 20 times by a 20-year-old boy Sahil outside her home in the national capital’s slum cluster in Rohini's Shahbad Dairy area. The video that got recorded on CCTV went viral on the social media.
The accused - identified as Sahil - was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh hours after the gruesome crime. "We have arrested the accused - Sahil - from Bulandshahr (in) Uttar Pradesh. He used to work as a mechanic for AC and refrigerators. Further investigation is underway… we will make sure the maximum punishment is given to the accused," Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Nalwa told news agency ANI.

The accused stabbed the girl for almost 20 times with a knife. In the video, the boy stabbed her so many times that at one point the knife got stuck in the head of the victim. The accused then picked up a heavy slab made of cement lying nearby and started hitting her as people passed by, but no one tried to intervene or stop the accused.
According to the police, the accused was identified as 20-year-old Sahil son of Sarfaraz. Soon after brutally murdering her, Sahil fled from the spot.

The accused and the victim were allegedly in a relationship and had a fight a day earlier to the incident. The minor was going to attend the birthday party of her friend’s son when Sahil stopped her and started stabbing her multiple times.

Sahil is at large and the search is underway to nab him. A FIR under Section 302 of the IPC at PS Shahbad Dairy has been registered on the complaint of the deceased's father.
Delhi Police PRO Suman Nalwa, said, "The accused has been identified and we will arrest him soon. Investigation into the matter is in full swing. Different teams of police have been formed to nab the accused."
