Sindhanur, May 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed public meetings in Sindhanur of Raicur district in North Karnataka.

PM Modi congratulated the Karnataka BJP on their Sankalp Patra, stating that it outlines a roadmap for the state to become the leading state in the country with modern infrastructure. The Sankalp Patra also prioritizes the welfare of the underprivileged, including the poor, downtrodden, exploited, deprived, tribals, and backward communities.

Prior to this, he was honored with a shawl on the dais. Following this, when he started his speech and his Kannada translator was ready, people did not want a Kannada translator. He was amazed knowing this.

PM Modi expressed his happiness when he said that the people of Sindhanur have knowledge of the Hindi language and there is no need to translate his speech into Kannada. However, he began his speech in Kannada and turns to Hindi.

During his speech, he once again raked up the issue of Congress calling him names. PM Modi, BJP's star campaigner, during his third public address on Tuesday, said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called him a "poisonous snake" in order to please the "family", referring to the Gandhis without directly naming them.

PM Modi was referring to Kharge's recent speech at Kalaburagi where he said, "PM Narendra Modi is like a poisonous snake. Now if you want to test a venom because I compared him with a poisonous snake, beware it will lead to your death."

Escalating the attack on the Congress party, Narendra Modi once again reiterated his "85 paise commission govt" barb in Sindhanur. He said the Centre used to release one rupee, but when the benefit used to trickle down to people in Karnataka only 15% was the actual benefit received.

"...Right after independence, the kind of loot Congress indulged in didn't allow the fruits of development to reach villages. Congress's PM himself said, "Delhi sends Re 1 but only 15 paise reach the ground, 85 paise gets stolen...What was that 'panja' which used to loot the 85 paise? Congress has made its image of an "85 paise commission Govt," PM Modi said in his Sindhanur speech.
