In yet another incident that highlights that Hinduphobia is intensifying in western countries, a Shree Laxmi Narayan Hindu temple, located in Brisbane, Australia, was vandalised overnight on Saturday, with graffiti defacing its walls.
 
This incident occurred weeks before Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Australia for the Quad Leaders’ Summit on May 24. Temple authorities also found a Khalistani flag hanging on the gate, and reported the matter to New South Wales (NSW) police, the Australia Today newspaper reported.

As per the reports, the devotees who came for their morning prayers discovered act of vandalism was. Member of Parliament for Parramatta Andrew Charlton reached the BAPS Temple as soon as he was informed of the Hindu Hate incident, the Australia Today newspaper reported.
 
 
 
Earlier in Sydney last month, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong to discuss the safety of the Australian Hindu community and its temples.
 
“For the last 23 years, the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir has been a cornerstone of the local community and a prominent Hindu Temple which, like all BAPS temples worldwide, is an abode of peace and harmony, equality, selfless service and universal Hindu values," the statement read.

On March 04

In first week of march, Khalistan supporters vandalised walls of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in the suburb of Mill Park with phrases like “Hindu-stan Murdabad".

16 January

The historic Shri Shiva Vishnu Temple in Carrum Downs, Victoria. The pro-Khalistani elements vandalised the religious place and spray painted anti-India messages on the building’s wall.

12 January

In 12 January, BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in the Mill park area of Melbourne was vandalised by Khalistani supporters who spray-painted anti-India slogans on the walls of the temple.

23 January

The walls of ISCKON temple in Melbourne’s Albert Park were vandalised with graffiti "Hindustan Murdabad". 
The temple authorities said they were shocked and outraged over the disregard for a place of worship. A complaint has been filed with Victoria Police and CCTV footage is being scanned to identify the culprits, a report in The Australia Today said.

Apart from this, the Brisbane's Gayatri Mandir, a Hindu temple, had received threatening calls from Khalistani extremists who were based in Lahore, Pakistan.
