Srinagar, May 9: In yet another development taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, the first completely pedestrian, wire-free market Polo View High Street of Srinagar is all ready to welcome people.
This came after Chief Executive Officer Srinagar Smart City Limited Athar Amir has announced the development and said that it is all set to welcome people. He tweeted, "Polo View High Street-First completely pedestrian & wire free market in #Srinagar, getting ready to welcome you. Universal access, separate underground sewerage & drainage networks, underground electricity &comm. lines, facade improvement of buildings, public convenience all part of it".

The redevelopment of the polo view market under the smart city project as the first fully pedestrian market in Srinagar was taken last year in the month of August.
Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha had laid the foundation stone of the Polo View Market Development & Upgradation Project under the Srinagar Smart City.
Athar Amir also some before the development images to differentiate between them. He said, "Some pictures from before! The pedestrianisation and redevelopment of Polo View Market project had been taken up by #SrinagarSmartcity Lt. A new road has been constructed behind the market to cater the the traffic. This area is exclusively pedestrian!"
The makeover of Polo View Street involves Pedestrianisation, Utility Undergrounding, development of public amenities, aesthetic improvement, etc.
