The so-called journalist Meer Faisal has once again attempted to spread fake news with the aim to create communal hate against Hindus by sharing a three-year-old video of Allen Coaching Institute.
This came after a YouTube channel ‘Kota Waalaa’ shared a video on June 23 in which a large group of students can be seen and heard chanting Jai Shri Ram in response to another group of students offering Namaz within the institute premises. It claimed the video was from Kota’s Samarth Centre of Allen coaching institute.
Soon after the video was shared, it went viral. The video was shared by many on social media, including the infamous fake news paddler Meer Faisal.
Sharing the video, Faisal wrote, "Muslim students were offering Friday prayer in an area designated for them at Allen Institute, and after seeing this, Hindu students started opposing them by chanting “Jai Shri Ram.” This video was posted on Instagram two days ago by allen_se_hu."
However, his fake news was busted by Rajasthan Police. Responding to his tweet, Kota Police said that the video was from 2020, and recently, no such incident happened. When the video came to Kota Police’s notice in 2020, they took appropriate action. The police added that they keep an eye on such incidents.
This is not the first time Meer Faisal has indulged in spreading fake news. Meer Faisal known for his biased reportage for propaganda outlets like The Wire and Deutsche Welle (DW News, Germany). On the occasion of Ram Navami, he shared a clip stating a saffron flag was installed over a Mosque during the Ram Navami procession. However, he deleted the clip after being called out on social media.
