Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally broke his silence on the Manipur issue, today (Aug 10), during his parliamentary address and left the opposition baffled. He not only addressed the issue with dignity and shared the will among fellow parliamentarians to face the issue with seriousness and unity instead of politicizing it, but also ripped of the opposition's allegations about the PM's silence on the Manipur violence.

PM Modi attacks opposition

It has been considerable period that the opposition has been howling around that the Prime Minister is silent about the violence taking place in Manipur. However, with PM Modi's befitting reply to the opposition today, it was proven that opposition had dug its own grave. Strategically speaking, all the chaos that the opposition had created so far, only shaped the best possible conditions for a 'STAR PERFORMER' to deliver his 'PERFORMANCE' with grandeur, leaving the opposition ashamed as they left the sadan during PM Modi's speech.

Here's all that he said;

Giving a background to the existing conflicts of North East, PM Modi reminded Congress of its own actions in Mizoram, when on 5th March 1966, Congress had the Indian Air Force attack helpless citizens in Mizoram. He said;

1.

"Congress should answer if it was the Air Force of any other country. Were the people of Mizoram not the citizens of my country? Was their security not the responsibility of the Government of India?"

He further said that the dreadful day is mourned in Mizoram even today and despite of the tragedy, Congress never even tried to console the people. PM Modi said;

2.

"The Congress hid the incident from the people of the country. Indira Gandhi was then the PM of the country."

Further pointing out poor homework of the opposition about the Manipur issue, PM Modi said there was a time in Manipur when everything used to happen according to the wishes of insurgent organisations and said that this happened under the Congress government. The Prime Minister said;

3.

"Whose government was there in Manipur when Mahatma Gandhi's picture was not allowed in government offices, whose government was there in Manipur when the decision to not allow the national anthem in schools was taken, during bomb blasts in Imphal Iskcon? Their (opposition) pain is selective. They cannot think beyond politics," said the Prime Minister.

He went on saying that;

4.

"Opposition behaves as if issues of Manipur came up suddenly. Everyone knows Congress is responsible for fueling all the problems currently faced by the North East.” He also said that "Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru ensured of no development taking place in the northeastern states."
