Gonda, Aug 2: In a significant development, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested a youth identified as Mukim Siddiqui for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, police said on Tuesday.
Mukim Siddiqui alias Arshad (21), a resident of Dinpurwa in Gonda district, was arrested from here on Monday, a statement issued by the ATS said. Two SIM cards and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession, it said.
Reports suggest that the ATS is taking further legal action by presenting the accused before the court.
Not the first case-
On July 16, the ATS arrested Mohd Raees, Armaan Ali, and Mohd Salman Siddiqui for allegedly spying for the ISI and indulging in anti-national activities.
On the other hand, UP ATS said in its press release that Mukim was revealed during the interrogation of Raees, Armaan Ali, and Mohd. Salman Siddiqui, who were arrested earlier. The arrested accused had talked about Mukim being involved in anti-national activities because of which ATS was looking for Mukim and nabbed him from Lucknow.
