In a heart-wrenching event, the father of the minor girl who was brutally gang raped, chopped into multiple pieces and then burned in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, jumped onto the burning pyre of his daughter, badly injuring himself.
As per the report, the father of the minor victim was inconsolable and struggled to find the strength to stand. During the final rituals, the girl and her father jumped onto the burning pyre. He was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Dr Arun Gaur, the director of the Government Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, stated his condition was now out of danger. He said his parameters were normal.
The minor girl who went missing on August 2 was allegedly raped and murdered, following which her charred remains were found in a coal furnace. The minor who went missing had gone to a field in the village to graze goats. The family members and villagers started searching for the girl and gradually found a bangle near a coal furnace. Following this, the villagers informed the police. They further alleged that the girl was gang-raped, thrown into the coal furnace and burnt alive.
Thereafter, the police had registered a case of gangrape, and murder and the accused were also booked under relevant sections of the POCSO Act. Enraged over the incident, the villagers sat for a protest and demanded that justice should be served for the 12-year-old.
Some of the body parts of the minor were allegedly burnt in the furnace while other parts were disposed of in a nearby pond in a bid to tamper all evidence, the police said. Four men and four women have been charged in connection with the alleged gangrape and murder of a minor girl in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.
The arrested accused have been identified as Kalu Lal, Kanha, Sanjay Kumar, and Pappu.
This alarming incident underscores the grave safety challenges women continue to confront in Rajasthan. It should be noted that the crime against women has been increasing in the Congress-ruled 'Rajasthan' state. The NCRB data shows that the state has become the 'rape capital' of the country.
Just a few days before this incident, two teenage sisters were allegedly raped at a brick kiln by two co-workers of their father in Rajasthan’s Alwar district. Police have reported that both the girls are pregnant.
Earlier on 1 August, a 17-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by eight men in Rajasthan's Alwar, the fourth such case reported in the district within 24 hours.
