Since the 'Prophet Muhammed' controversy, BJP leader Nupur Sharma who disappeared after receiving the 'N Nunbers of 'Sar Tan Se Juda' threats from Islamists, now made her first public appearance, attending a promotional event for director Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming movie 'The Vaccine War' in Delhi on Sunday.

 

 

During the event, Sharma joined the cast and makers of the film and expressed her gratitude to the vaccine scientists present, saying, "I just want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you. It's because of your efforts that we Indians are alive today."

 

She also appreciated the film's organisers forinviting her, stating, "I'll simply say one thing - Bharat Mata Ki Jai! And India," she added, quickly correcting herself, "Bharat can do it."

 

 

It should be noted that Nupur Sharma has not made a public appearance since her debate on a TV news channel caused uproar at May-end in 2022. Even the last tweet on her Twitter (now X) handle is from June 5, 2022, when she posted a clarification over her controversial remarks and withdrew them unconditionally.

 

Nupur Sharma made a statement about Prophet Muhammad and his third wife, Ayesha, in a TV debate in May 2022.

 

Nupur Sharma received death threats from Islamists after her allegedly insulting remarks against the Prophet Muhammad during a TV debate on 26 May 2022. Following a widespread outrage by Islamists, the BJP expelled her from the party. Cases were also filed against Nupur Sharma in many states. She was also constantly receiving death threats. Several people have been killed by Islamists for supporting Nupur Sharma on social media platforms.

 

Nupur Sharma had applied for a gun licence as she has been receiving death threats, a Delhi Police official informed. Accordingly, the licence has been granted to carry a personal gun.
