According to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation's birth-death data, more than 3,000 children have perished in the previous 20 months.
According to the figures, 3,487 children died in a single year between 2022 and 2023.This means that 5 to 6 youngsters die every day.
The BJP Cuttack Mahanagar Unit is concerned about the rising number of deaths.The party's delegation met with the Principal of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishubhawan), Cuttack, and discussed the problem.
The team also presented the Principal with a note requesting suitable actions to prevent infant fatalities in the hospital.
The party further stated that if the State Government fails to control child mortality, it will go to the streets in the coming days.
