In yet another controversy regarding the Hemant Soren-led JMM coalition government, issues related to leaked examination papers and irregularities within the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) have emerged. There are allegations that the state government's lack of seriousness regarding the future of its youth has led to these incidents.

During his visit to Jharkhand on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah sharply criticised the ruling JMM over the exam paper leak issue. He promised that if the BJP came to power, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be established to bring the culprits to justice. He stated, "More than 11 exam papers were leaked, but Hemant Babu remains silent because the culprits are his close associates... We will form an SIT and ensure that those responsible for these leaks end up behind bars."

This comes against the backdrop of the paper leak issue severely impacting the trust of Jharkhand's public. The way the Soren government handled this issue has been viewed as dubious. If the JMM government had prioritised exam security, such leaks could have been prevented. Despite alleged irregularities in JSSC exams, authorities seemed indifferent.

Moreover, the Hemant Soren government faced intense criticism due to its reported lax response to controlling paper leaks. Candidates expected swift investigations and accountability, but delays led to public outrage. One significant issue is the state's delay in transparently addressing these incidents, further fueling suspicion. It seemed that instead of taking action, the administration focused on covering up to protect the government's image.

Such incidents also raise questions that corruption and nepotism in government jobs are on the rise in Jharkhand. This has led to widespread demand for independent or judicial inquiries into these incidents, as the state's internal investigations no longer inspire confidence.
