Why are Hindus always on the defensive?

"I think the important point is the turning point in combining offense and defense in a reasonable way." ~ Fred Ikle

One has been observing since the time of our independence that Hindus in India and even abroad are always apologetic. In every debate on TV podcast or even a written article, Hindus are always presenting themselves proudly as holier than though and politically right as a community. Minorities have no qualms at all. They are in your face every time. They shout, they push, look into your eyes and don’t care a damn.

When you watched a movie where ‘Gandhigiri’ was flouted out of proportion, we clapped and also thumped our backs. This is nothing more than a meek mindset.

hindus defensive

Why do we as Hindus need to justify our rights defensively? Why should a Hindu always beg for his rights that are guaranteed by our constitution- a holy book that is thrown at a Hindu debater in his face by the minority representatives? (20 % population declares itself as a minority and we accept it) Every day in a debate why must you say a ‘but’? Aurangzeb or Ghazni were aggressors ‘but’ we never attacked anyone in our history as Hindus. The world has been at war for centuries and even today multiple wars are being fought across the world without any good reason. Who cares?

Why does a Hindu get himself entangled willingly about how many gods we have or whether we are a way of life, not a religion? We are peace-loving and accommodating. You push me I am OK. Oh, come on smell the coffee.
Terrorists come and hit you- and the world knows who they are and from where they are created and come and we are still discussing the color and shades of terrorism! Green, blue, or yellow? It is like fifty shades and grades of terrorism. Some of our own left out oops left thinking guys (Hindus) come up with crazy ideas like Hindu terror. Some Left-liberals belong to an eco-chamber and are proud to wear LELI (LEFT LIBERALS) on their sleeve.

If nothing else they tie you down with Hindutva debate and Hindus are always ready to oblige- just shut them up. They are the bigger enemies and more potent than anyone else. We need to deal with the enemy within first before we sort out the outsiders. Stop them and rest assured, the rest of the chatter will vanish. Our self-proclaimed ‘intellectuals’ distorted our history as if they were the custodians of the treasure. For a few scholarships, jaunts and accommodation, flats or cozy bungalows they sold their soul- at least the conscience. Our leadership was Oxford-educated and wanted to project that they were statesmen of sorts. ‘I am politer than you’ was the underlying spirit, very competitive too? I don’t know exactly when the roads of Delhi especially the central and North Delhi were named after Aurangzeb, Akbar or Bahadur Shah Zafar marg but these eponymous roads are plenty.

Did you know that during Nazi rule several streets were named after Hitler, but today all of these have been cleared of that name! Hitler was their own Fuhrer, a German and yet they didn’t pardon him.

I have never seen any Christian, Sikh, Buddhist or Muslim in India speaking openly against their religion. Hindus- they are a different breed altogether- they feel they are liberal, modern, or cool if they curse their religion- yuk. The simple reason is they are allowed to bark, yes bark. I remember a dialogue by Bruce Lee in the ‘enter the Dragon’ movie telling his opponent ‘Boards don’t hit back’. Yes, Hindus are like practice boards or boxer’s punching bags which will keep taking the punches as they don’t hit back. A boxer should have faced a Mike Tyson or Cassius Clay to know what is real boxing. One hard punch and you will be knocked out. They are weak-kneed and spineless- will make noise till you hit back.

Every Indian was ruled by either the Mughals or the British for a long period which was over 1000 years. Being ‘jee huzoor’ or subservient and meek got entangled or amalgamated in our DNA- at least forty generational mindset was reset to a slave mindset in thousand years! But Hindus got infected by this ‘buzdill’ virus more than others.
OK we are peace loving but why must we keep announcing from rooftop that we don’t even kill a mosquito- we accommodate every one and say ‘Vasudheva kutambhakam’ world is one family. Why must I always have to say that Jews and Parsis were accommodated by us and no one else? If no Arab country is ready to take their people into their refuge, during the Hamas crisis in Gaza, why must I do it? A tiny nation like Maldives is saying openly ‘India out’ where we helped them during a crisis in 1988. What kind of ‘skewed’ mindset we want to display- we cannot let people crawl all over us. Someone makes ‘Kashmir files’- a movie to show what happened to Hindus in Kashmir and Hindus troll the filmmaker! What is wrong with us- it certainly is.

You give one shut up call and the other guy has to think ten times before he opens his mouth. Offence is the best form of defence.

"I will make certain that our military is the best in the world in both cyber offense and defense and in every other way, by the way. Every other way." ~ Donald Trump
And this is his USP.

America has toppled more than 70 regimes and still preach peace, and democracy to the world shamelessly. Hindus need to learn this shamelessness from the west, especially America. They have hundreds of military bases across the world. They make or break regulating organizations at will as per their instant need. China is expanding wherever it needs to. North Korea gives a damn about what the world thinks. Some will behead you for blasphemy but I am OK even if you are not OK! Very nice. ‘humne sharafat ka theka liya hai kya?’

The best part is Hindus need an excuse or something to hide behind and each one finds one. For instance, armed forces people who were asked not to discuss politics in the mess or a club by the British (for their safety) took it so seriously that even after retirement they take this as an ‘excuse’ to remain away from talking of politics, TAKING POSITIONS OR EXPRESSING WHICH SIDE THEY STAND FOR- come on bro you are retired now!
You can disgrace Hindu gods as you do not expect ‘pliant’ Hindus to retaliate- try with others and see what they do to your brethren. If some Hindu organization retaliates even in a nonviolent way to protest against something derogatory said about our Gods people have a problem. Our leftist Hindus are the first ones to make noise- custodians of harmony, who are Hindus become GYANDATAS. Boss LEFT LIBERALISM (LELI) cannot be one one-way street.

Now, people are openly saying on TV debates that nonviolence didn’t get us freedom- a lot of other factors were also at play. Even Vikram Sampath says that when British PM Clement Attlee met the Governor of Bengal, he was asked by the Governor ‘How much was the nonviolence movement a contributor to the British leaving India?’ And Attlee said ‘Very little’. So, it was the ‘danda’ of INA under Subhash Chander Bose that scared them, the British army which had the majority of Indians had they rebelled would be in deep trouble. Therefore, we did not get ‘aazadi bina khadak bina dhaal’ as we were told all along. ‘Khadak to khadkani he padti hai’. Haven’t we learned a lesson? No. Our political leadership after independence took it to different skewed levels- the masqueraded nonviolence! They took a stand that India will not make and export weapons and arms as, as a nation we believe in nonviolence- but we will import arms! How convenient an argument that suited that group for showing they were holy cows could also open channels for kickbacks in one go.

Do not be violent or resort to violence but at least be assertive. Times are changing- winds of change are being felt. At the least do not be apologetic or defensive in arguments- say what is your stand and with conviction. Fortunately, Hindu has been nudged out of his sleep paralysis. After six decades.

When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. - Desmond Tutu

Back to the Hindus, why must Hindus always be offering a peace pipe and be ‘udar’ or magnanimous? Let us not forget ‘love and peace and helping others’ is not the flavour of today. At best it is a two way Interfaith relations. (IFR). Diplomacy goes hand in hand with danda therefore only ‘Diplomatic danda’ works.
Let Hindus always not carry the cross- though the cross doesn’t belong to Hindus. It has to be mutual respect. Boss I respect you as long as you respect me. I am not going to be apologetic. If we are to live in a secular country it is for everyone- it cannot be heads I win, tails you lose.
