PM Modi to end his roadshow by paying tribute to 1989 Tamil Nadu blast victims

As many as 58 people had lost their lives and 200 people were injured in the horrific bomb blast in Coimbatore on 14th Feb 1998. The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had earlier condemned the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the state for long to release the convicts of this bomb blast.

Coimbatore city today ended with a tribute to 1998 Coimbatore blast victims. The PM will be visiting the site at the end of the 3 km roadshow, he is scheduled to undergo around 6 pm on Monday in the city, according to sources.

PM Modi's Coimbatore roadshow details
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will visit Coimbatore this evening for election campaigning, will take part in a grand road show in the city from 6 pm to 7 pm. According to PM's itinerary, he will arrive in Coimbatore today at 5.30 pm by flight from Sivamokka, Karnataka. He then starts the vehicle rally from the Saibaba Temple signal area in Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore.
From there, a roadshow for a distance of about 3.6 km passes through Ganga Hospital, Vadakovai, Avinasilingam Women's University, Chintamani, and ends at RS Puram. At the end of the rally, Prime Minister Modi is also planning to meet the beneficiaries of central government schemes.

Along the route of the Prime Minister's motorcade, barricades have been erected on both sides of the road and BJP flags have been erected. Security arrangements have been intensified from the starting point of the motorcade to the end of the rally. More than 5,000 policemen have been deployed for the security.
The Prime Minister will be staying at Coimbatore Circuit House tonight, concluding the motorcade. Then he leaves for Kerala tomorrow morning. Prime Minister's visit to Coimbatore has created excitement among the Bharatiya Janata Party as the Lok Sabha election date has been announced.
It may be recalled that after Coimbatore city police denied permission PM Modi's roadshow for city citing security reasons, to permit a 4 km road show during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city on March 18
Meanwhile, in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Coimbatore today, heavy vehicles have been banned from entering the city from 18th March 6 am to 19th, March 11 am.
