Bengaluru, Mar 20: The Chinnaswamy Stadium went wild after Virat Kohli spoke a few words in Kannada during the Unbox event of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The event took place on Tuesday to launch their 2024 campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Thousands of RCB fans filled the stadium in huge numbers, as usual, to welcome the men’s team ahead of the IPL 2024 and also to give the women’s team a warm reception for their title triumph in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Initially, the Indian star batter couldn't even speak as cheers covered.
Finally while concluding his speech after speaking the RCB's IPL campaign said, "Idu RCB'ya Hosa Adhyaya (This is the new chapter of RCB)".

The Unbox event witnessed renaming of the Bengaluru franchise to Royal Challengers Bengaluru which was earlier Royal Challengers Banglore. It also their new jersey for the upcoming season. Earlier in the evening, the glorious women’s team were welcomed onto the field with a guard of honour by the men’s side. Captain Smriti Mandhana walked in with the WPL trophy and led her troop around the ground for a lap of honour.
The men’s side will start their IPL 2024 campaign on the opening day as they lock horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Friday.
