Actor Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, popularly known for her portrayal of Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in the long-running sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah’, departed from the show after she put forth serious allegations of sexual harassment levelled against the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi. After filing an FIR against the TMKOC producer in 2023, the actor has won the case now.

As Asit Modi has been found guilty in the case, he has been asked by the court to pay her a total sum of Rs 25-30 lakh. This amount encompasses both the charges of sexual harassment and the outstanding dues owed to her from her tenure on the show.

Not only this, he has been instructed to provide an extra Rs 5 lakh as compensation for the harassment Jennifer endured. However, there has been no penalty imposed on the other two individuals accused, Sohil and Jatin, as they were not mentioned in the verdict.

Confirming the news, Jennifer told ETimes, "The verdict is in my favour, confirming the allegations I made with strong evidence. This outcome surpasses what the police achieved in the past year."

On Tuesday, she even took to her Instagram account and dropped a post with a powerful caption. Jennifer wrote, “Legend has it that the festival commemorates the triumph of Lord Narasimha over the demon Hiranyakashyap, representing the victory of righteousness over malevolence… It marks the victory of good over evil… Happy holi.”

In May 2023, Taarak Mehta Ka Ootah Chashmah actor Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal aka Roshan Kaur Sodhi accused the makers (including Asit Kumar Modi) of the popular Television sitcom of sexual harassment at workplace.

She took to her Instagram handle and shared a video in which she warned the makers. Jennifer recited a couplet, stating, "Chuppi ko meri kamzori mat samjhna, main chup thi kyunki saleeka hai mujh mein. Khuda gawah hai ki sach kya hai. Yaad rakh, uske ghar mein koi fark nahi tujhmein ya mujhme." (Don't take my silence for weakness, I was quite because I wanted to. God knows what is the truth, don't forget we are equal in front of him.)
