This incident became a talking point that even drew hilarious reactions from Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri. As the video also aired live of Gambhir hugging Kohli, Shastri, who was commentating with Gavaskar, said that this moment deserves a fairplay award. Gavaskar went a step ahead to say "not only a fairplay award, they should be given an Oscar".


But this is not the first time they have hugged each other. Last year, after the match 15 when LSG won against RCB, the duo met each other in the dressing room and shared a warm hug. The LSG’s official Twitter handle shared the pictures, and within no time they went viral on the internet.


When both met once again, one of the infamous altercations happened.

Known for their competitive spirits and occasionally fiery on-field exchanges, both Gambhir and Kohli have engaged in a verbal altercation on several occasions including in IPL 2023 when Gambhir, now serving as Kolkata Knight Riders' mentor, was affiliated with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The confrontation started with a heated exchange between Virat and LSG pacer Naveen Ul Haq. Following the match, Gambhir entered the field and participated in another round of verbal altercation with Kohli.

However, their recent gesture of mutual respect and reconciliation has turned heads and warmed hearts.
