The incident took place on Sunday night when the car’s occupants – a man, his wife, 1.5-year-old child and mother-in-law – were travelling from Madiwala towards Hosur.

In the footage, a woman could be heard calling a government helpline as the three men on the scooter continuously follow her vehicle. The woman, identified as Priyam Singh, was heard saying, "They are following us, they are punching the vehicle."

The men on the scooter could be seen making aggressive gestures towards the woman. They followed and proceeded to overtake the car and tried to block its path. The woman continued to narrate the situation, "He is abusing, he is opening the door, he is touching the door."

“They are following us and punching our vehicle, opening the door, are you listening?” she could be heard saying in the video.

The man, who preferred to stay anonymous, told The Indian Express, “It was around 9.15 pm. As we came near gate 5 of St John’s Hospital, they shouted at us, maybe because of the indicator signal or something but then continued to chase us for the next 5 km. They were banging on the windows and even tried to open it. We were totally scared. In the meantime, my wife contacted the police helpline 112 and by the time we reached Koramangala, the police arrived and they fled.”

Following the incident, a case was filed at Madiwala police station, and the culprits were apprehended during the night. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru South East) CK Baba, the confrontation began over a flashing indicator light, leading to the chase.

“We request the public to call the police helpline 112 in such instances,” the DCP said. Taking it to X, the senior officer expressed gratitude for bringing the incident to their attention, “We take road safety and incidents of road rage very seriously. This is to inform that immediate action was taken immediately & an FIR has been registered. The accused have been apprehended.”

“It’s imperative for citizens to report such incidents promptly to the police through 112 for swift response and necessary action. Additionally, let’s all commit to obeying road traffic rules to ensure the safety of everyone on the road,” he added.
