Noida Firm Delivers First Indian Crash Fire Tender to IAF

New Delhi, April 4: The Indian Air Force ( IAF ) announced on Wednesday (Apr 4) the acquisition of the inaugural Crash Fire Tender ( CFT ) designed and produced domestically.
In a statement shared on its official social media platform X, the IAF disclosed the recent receipt of the premier indigenously crafted Crash Fire Tender, marking a significant milestone in the nation's defense manufacturing capability. The procurement, orchestrated through a contract valued at Rs 291 crore, was fulfilled by a Noida-based Indian MSME firm. Despite encountering multiple disruptions in the global supply chain, the Indian manufacturer managed to deliver the CFT within a remarkable 14-month timeframe from the contract's signing.
The post further underscored the IAF's commitment to nurturing and supporting Indian Defense Manufacturing and Production entities, emphasizing its role in fostering indigenous production capabilities. This achievement aligns with the overarching objective of promoting indigenous solutions in the defense sector, a priority area for the Narendra Modi government under the 'Make in India' initiative.
Highlighting its steadfast dedication to indigenous procurement, the Indian Air Force has embarked on procuring a multitude of domestically manufactured items to fulfill its operational requisites. Notably, significant strides have been made in bolstering the indigenous defense manufacturing ecosystem, with the IAF's procurement endeavors extending to include a substantial number of indigenous fighter aircraft, such as the light combat aircraft Tejas.
In collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the IAF is also actively engaged in the development of cutting-edge fifth-generation advanced medium combat aircraft to meet evolving strategic imperatives.
In a separate development, on March 28, the inaugural Aircraft LA5033 of the Tejas Mk1A Aircraft series successfully undertook its maiden flight from the HAL facility in Bengaluru. The sortie, with a duration of 18 minutes, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing advancement of indigenous aircraft manufacturing capabilities.
