Panjim, Oct 8: Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday (Oct 8) after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa.

According to reports, Patekar was found unconscious at his residence and was subsequently taken to Manipal Hospital. Doctors attempted to revive him for around 45 minutes through CPR, but he could not be revived. Hospital sources said he was declared dead at 5:20 am.
 
 
 
 
 
A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted as part of the formal procedure.
 
Nana Patekar, whose real name was Vishwanath Patekar, was one of the most respected actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema. Over a career spanning several decades, he was known for his powerful performances in films including ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Parinda’, ‘Agni Sakshi’, ‘Natsamrat’ and ‘Welcome’.
 
His contribution to Indian cinema earned him several prestigious honours, including National Film Awards and the Padma Shri. His death marks the loss of a distinctive and influential voice in Indian cinema.
