Kolhapur: Gaibisab Dastagir, accused of love jihad, issues death threats to Hindu victim after out on bail, seeks withdrawl of complaint

On Wednesday, 29th April, a novel case of Love Jihad came to light from the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. A Hindu orphan alleged that she was sexually assaulted for over 5 years by her landlord, identified as Gaibisab Dastagir. The girl also claimed that the accused forced her to wear a burqa, follow Islamic religious practices, and convert her religion to Islam.
The video of the incident was posted by the Treeni account on social media and is pending for media verification. The girl in the video states that the accused was already married and the father of two kids. She said that he assaulted her for 5 years and forced her to get married to him.
As per the initial information, the victim filed a police complaint twice, after which the accused and his mother were arrested in 2025 for torturing the girl. However, the accused recently obtained bail and threatened her, sending a letter that read, "Take back the police complaint, otherwise we'll kill you. If you tell this to anyone, all your photos and videos will also be made public. Yours, Gabby."

The girl traumatized by the event is believed to have gotten in touch with the Sakal Hindu Samaj who helped her go to the police. The girl also confessed that the mother of the accused had tortured her mentally and forced her to accept Islam as her new religion. She said that she has been facing this torture for the past few years.
