"This incident raises a painful question: what has happened to the status of Gaumata when she can be treated with such blatant disregard and cruelty in our streets?" he added. Notably, the Mumbai Police took cognizance of the event and directed the Pune Police to look into the matter.

It is important to note that cow smuggling, slaughter, or harm is considered a criminal offense in several Indian states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In Hinduism, cows hold deep religious significance and are revered as sacred animals. They are often associated with deities such as Lord Krishna and are viewed as symbols of motherhood and sustenance. As a result, harming or killing a cow is regarded as highly disrespectful and offensive to many followers of the faith.

In the given case, the state police is looking into the matter. Further details are awaited.
