A disturbing incident has come to light from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where a man named Naushad, reportedly a maulana, was caught on camera molesting a woman wearing a burqa in a public street. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Taking cognizance of the footage, the police identified the accused and formed teams to arrest him.

In the viral video, a woman can be seen walking through a lane wearing a burqa and carrying some items in her hand. Suddenly, a man dressed in a kurta-pajama, wearing a cap and sporting a beard, is seen approaching her quickly from behind. He comes very close to her and grabs her from behind, engaging in inappropriate and obscene behavior.
 
 

Startled by the sudden attack, the woman panics and begins screaming. As soon as she resists, the accused manages to flee from the spot. The video also shows the woman attempting to chase him for a short distance while shouting, but he manages to escape from the lane.
 
"In the Than Mugulpura area, an individual committed an incident of molestation with a veiled woman. Based on the received written complaint, a case has been registered at Than Mugulpura," Moradabad Police said while commenting on the case.
 
 

The incident took place in the Barbalan area under the Mughulpura police station limits in Moradabad. Following the woman’s complaint, the police immediately launched a manhunt. Naushad open fired at the police, after which the police fired back in retaliation. The accused was later apprehended. He sustained a bullet injury to his leg and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
