In a shocking development, Islamists from the neighboring country of Bangladesh have taken to the streets demanding Mamata Banerjee’s reinstatement as Chief Minister of West Bengal after TMC’s heavy defeat to the BJP in the recently held assembly elections. The enraged Islamists in an exclusive video shared by the local Bangladeshi news channel 'Times Today Entertainment', could be heard planning alleged attacks on India if the TMC is not reinstated to power.

The video of the said protest is making rounds on social media. However, the authenticity of the video could not be individually verified. This probably comes a day after a Bangladeshi 'Islamic scholar' identified as Dr. Enayatullah Abbasi openly issued threats to allegedly kill or harm Hindus living in Bangladesh. "We'll target all Hindus in Bangladesh if a single Muslim is harmed in West Bengal," he could be heard saying in a 4-minute-long video.

Dr. Enayetullah Abbasi alleged that Muslims in West Bengal are facing insecurity and claimed that political pressure should be created against the state government. He stated that many Muslims in West Bengal look towards Bangladesh for support and accused the newly formed government in the state of targeting Muslims through actions such as shutting down beef shops and attacks on mosques.

He further criticized the BJP and Hindutva ideology, comparing the concept of “Akhand Bharat” with the idea of “Greater Israel,” claiming both are rooted in religious and ideological ambitions. Abbasi argued that such visions would never be fully realized.

He also called on the Bangladesh government to take a stronger stand, suggesting that diplomatic and trade pressure should be used if Muslims in West Bengal are allegedly mistreated. Additionally, he warned that if Muslims in Bangladesh are not safe, Hindus in Bangladesh would also face insecurity.

The state of West Bengal witnessed a recent political shift, with Suvendu Adhikari from Bharatiya Janata Party taking oath as the new Chief Minister. Following the development, several Left-leaning Islamist voices and members associated with the All India Trinamool Congress have strongly reacted and expressed concern over the change in power. They have also expressed fear that Muslims in the state are being tortured in the state of West Bengal. However, the fact is that several BJP leaders and Hindu activists in West Bengal have been tortured and attacked at the hands of TMC after the party lost power in the state. A detailed report regarding the same can be read here.
