Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has appointed astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister (Political), according to an official government order issued on May 12. The appointment was announced through Office Proceedings No. 675 dated May 12, 2026, issued by the Public (Estt. IV) Department of the Tamil Nadu government.
Notably, Rickey Radhan Pandit had predicted nearly a year ago that Vijay would come to power. The appointment order was issued following a note from the Chief Minister’s Office dated May 12.
Speaking earlier as the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) spokesperson, Radhan Pandit had dismissed exit polls, saying, “We are completely ignoring these exit polls. I am confident that we will sweep the election with more than 170 seats, or at least above 140. We conducted our own detailed survey and are certain of securing a minimum 45% vote share, not merely 20–25%. With 108 hours left for the counting, I can confidently say that in the 109th hour, we will take oath, and Vijay will become the Chief Minister in a historic manner.”
The order stated that “Thiru Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister (Political) with effect from the date of joining,” adding that the detailed terms and conditions of the appointment would be issued separately.

The development comes as Vijay continues to strengthen his political and administrative team after assuming office as Chief Minister. The role of an OSD generally includes political coordination, liaison responsibilities, and handling assignments directly linked to the Chief Minister’s Office.
