Madhya Pradesh Police has achieved a
major milestone in the field of technology with the inauguration of the state’s first and the country’s second drone training centre at the Police Radio Training School (PRTS) campus in Indore. The centre has been named the Police Aerial Systems and Technology Centre (PASTC). It is also the first state-level police drone centre in the country to receive official approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The centre was inaugurated by Special Director General of Police (Telecommunications) Sanjeev Shami. The historic occasion was attended by the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Devi Ahilya University, along with several senior police officials and distinguished citizens. The programme was coordinated by SP (Radio) Shiv Kumar Gupta, while DSP Sanjay Kumar More delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
With this development, Madhya Pradesh has become the second state in the country after Bengaluru in Karnataka to establish such a hi-tech drone training centre at the police department level.
Director of PRTS Indore and DIG Manoj Kumar Shrivastava said that, in order to develop the centre in line with international standards, the department’s team visited several prominent drone training centres across the country. Based on those observations, the necessary infrastructure and modern training equipment were installed at the facility.
Addressing the inaugural session, Special DGP Sanjeev Shami highlighted the growing role of drones in policing, surveillance and enforcement operations. He further stated that advanced technologies such as secure servers and satellite communication systems would be used at the centre to ensure the safety and confidentiality of sensitive police data.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Chief Guest and other senior officers also visited the newly established drone training centre and the historic museum set up at PRTS Indore, appreciating the arrangements and facilities developed at both locations.
