14-Year-Old boy killed by specific community people in Agra watermelon field clash; 13 booked, 2 detained

A disturbing incident has emerged from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, that has sent shockwaves across humanity. Over a trivial dispute involving a watermelon, a 13-year-old innocent boy has been brutally murdered by unknown miscreants belonging to a specific community. The police have taken cognizance of the event and registered an FIR against 13 people who belong to a specific community. Two of them have also been detained. 
 
As per several media accounts, the names of the accused include Saddam, Arshad, Rashid, Aamir, Nadeem, and Riyaz Ahmad. However, while the fact as stated by Dainik Bhasker is that the accused belonged to the specific community, the names of the accused remain yet to be verified by Newsbharati. 

This heart-wrenching incident took place in Soni Kheda village of the Basai Jagner area in Agra. According to reports, the 13-year-old boy had stepped out of his house in the afternoon on May 1st. His family grew worried after he did not return home even after sunset. After searching extensively, when the family reached their fields on the outskirts of the village, they were horrified by the sight. The boy’s body was lying on the ground, soaked in blood. There were deep injury marks on his face and body, indicating the brutality he endured before his death.

According to available information, the boy’s father had leased out his field on sharecropping. It is alleged that the boy had gone to pluck a watermelon from that field, where a dispute escalated to the point that he was killed. News of the murder spread like wildfire, and within no time, thousands of villagers gathered at the spot. Enraged villagers raised slogans against the local MLA and accused the administration of negligence. Considering the sensitivity of the situation, Congress district president Ramnath Sikarwar also reached the spot.
 
 

After the incident, the villagers’ anger also turned towards the police. When the police tried to take custody of the body for a postmortem, villagers lay down in front of the police vehicle. After much persuasion and assurances of strict action, the police managed to take the body. Due to the tense situation, police forces from multiple stations have been deployed in the village.
