On Thursday, 28th May, a woman filed an FIR against Saini S Johray, the production designer of the film Dhurandhar, alleging sexual harassment at Sector-17 Police Station.

According to the complaint, the woman alleged that Johray called her to a five-star hotel, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately, assaulted her after she resisted, and wrongfully confined her. She also claimed that a suspicious intoxicating substance had been mixed into her drink, which caused her health to deteriorate.
After a preliminary investigation, Chandigarh Police registered an FIR on April 21, 2026. However, the matter
reportedly became public only late on Monday evening.

Reports stated that after the FIR was filed, the Sector-17 police began proceedings to arrest Johray. Before any arrest could take place, he obtained anticipatory bail from a district court.
Earlier, Dhurandhar actor Ranveer Singh faced controversy after he was banned by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The development came amid growing speculation in the film industry regarding tensions between the actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit explained that the issue began on April 11, when Farhan Akhtar reportedly filed a formal complaint against the actor. Following this, FWICE officially announced a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.
