Conspiracies Being Brewed to Divide Hindu Society

It has taken RSS 100 years to create a sense of unity and social harmony despite all attempts to divide the society. Hindu society cannot afford this luxury of extreme views.

I wrote this article on 2 May. In the heat of assembly elections, the publishers and I both lost track of this article. The results of the elections showed that the Hindu society refused to be divided despite very provocative messaging on social media. This is a good sign. However, the issues remain relevant. The divisive voices have been muted for the present, but danger is lurking in dark shadows.

Some days back, a social media organisation, claiming the mantle of purest form of Hindutva, picked up my conversation on some podcast where I had said something to the effect that since the conversion of Ambedkar and his followers to the Bouddha dhamma was from within the Sanatan fold or Indic roots, we do not criticize it. The person who posted it asked me if I still stood by my statement. I replied that, of course, I stand by whatever I have said in any podcast. I have done 100s of them, so I won’t remember exact words, but I stand by them. I also taunted the provocateur that he can now throw his troll army at me. And as expected, the trolls did abuse me with some vile comments.

RSS

Why am I writing about this? Because I have observed a distinct trend in the last couple of years, which has become more virulent since the UGC rules were notified. Which, by the way, I criticized too. I have written an article on 20 Feb, published on News18 portal, where I noted, “The outrage has turned into a campaign to break the Hindu society; a feat that left-secular forces could not achieve for 75 years, but the ultra-Hindu groups may manage if they have their way. The left secular brigade did not succeed because they were ‘outsiders’, that is, those who had no love for Hindu dharma, nor did they understand this nation. For them, it was a part of ‘Mission Breaking India’. […] Unwittingly, the self-proclaimed defenders of Hindutva / Hindu dharma, especially those who joined the Hindutva procession quite late in life, have given a new lease of life to the breaking Hindu unity project.”

I believe it is not being done unwittingly. It is deliberate. Not just the ultra-Hindu lobby; now there is an organised attempt, and I believe some people or some organisations are funding this hate campaign. Target is RSS – the spine of the Hindutva movement. People who are abusing it are the ones who rose in prominence in social media on the shoulders of the rising wave of national renaissance nurtured by RSS. This hate goes beyond RSS now. The hate campaign extends to Dr Amebdkar, Sangh, and Sarsanghchaalak; unfortunately, to even Bhagwan Buddha. He is being called out for his quote-unquote - “misogyny”.

Casteist slurs are being thrown around by General Caste warriors and also by neo-Ambedkarites. This cannot be justified in any form as these arguments and fake stories can do no one any good, except the perpetrators of hate, some of them probably being paid for spreading hate, creating social dissonance.

I had been criticized by Hindus and Muslims many times. I have even responded to such criticism where I could. Till recently, nobody abused or trolled me, with issues unrelated to my messages. I may criticize the BJP on some policies, they will bring another news and ask, what is your opinion, or abuse Dr Mohan Bhagwat. They are not illiterate roadside social media users. I do not know if they are real or Bots. Many of them are new accounts with 25-30 followers.

I see many posts that are quoting fake history or out-of-context quotations. Here are two recent examples that show the level of depravity of these divisive elements. The following example is from a blue-ticked X handle with decent following, posted on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, so it was deliberate. It read -

“Jinnah, Ambedkar, and Periyar, all three, were demanding separate states. Handle even gave the source - The Historic Meeting of Ambedkar, Jinnah and Periyar (K.V. Ramakrishna Rao). Unfortunately, the X handle has now made this tweet limited, so I cannot take a screenshot of the full tweet.

My response on 15 April 2026 was as follows:

I did not stop here, I sent this allegation to a Dalit writer who is a researcher and has studied Dr Ambedkar closely. He shared the bitter experiences of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on 19 March 1934, which are never shared by any ‘secular’ thinker, just as his book ‘Thoughts on Pakistan’ is hardly quoted by them. It is about his visit to Devgiri Fort. He tried to drink water and wash his face and feet after a long journey. He had to face abuse, and he was called untouchable.

He shares another incident while he was proceeding to Aurangabad (now Sambhaji Nagar) and was passing through Daulatabad. The team wished to visit Daulatabad Fort. It was the month of Ramzan. His team of 30 people washed their faces, etc., and proceeded to the fort. An old Muslim person shouted at them, asking why they used water from the tank and started abusing them as untouchables. Soon, a crowd of old and young Muslims collected there and abused them harshly. He was clearly told that untouchables cannot use that water. Despite his clarification that he did not know about this rule, as there was nobody there at that time, they kept insulting him and the team.

Dr Ambedkar was highly upset, and he asked them, “Is this what your religion teachers teach you? If an untouchable Muslim uses this tank’s water, would you still stop him?” They had no answer. Then he asked if they could visit the fort. If not, they would go back. Security personnel asked his name and came back telling him, “You can go inside the fort, but you should not touch any water body inside the fort.” They sent an armed soldier with the team to see that they don’t break the order.

Ambedkar says, “Islam speaks about brotherhood, Islam should be free from slavery and casteism. But the truth is that Islam breaks as strongly as it unites. Their brotherhood is limited to only Muslims, where there is nothing but insult and animosity against non-Muslims.” When Muslims began asking for a separate nation in 1935, Ambedkar was left with no doubt about the nature of Islam. Therefore, he was totally against conversion to Islam. (from ‘Waiting for Visa’)

I am quoting this because one troll had written earlier regarding my conversion quip that Muslims and Christians never offered Ambedkar to convert to their religions. This is how history is being distorted nowadays. Despite his life being an open book and his work for the nation and Dalits, why is he being defiled? There has to be an ulterior motive. I feel that the hate-mongering neo-Ambedkarites are not real followers of Dr Ambedkar. If he criticized Hindu dharma, he also defended it. He wrote clearly that Dalits are not a separate race, even while speaking and writing about the annihilation of castes. He was one of the earliest rational opponents of the Aryan Invasion Theory.

I will give one specific example now, about attempts to bring down the RSS image somehow, even with plain falsehood. Here is the screenshot of a well-known Maharashtra politician who claims here, “I have been in Sangh Parivar for the last 50 years. As per my memory, till 1985, no Sangh karyalaya had a photo frame of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.” The picture below also shows my response -

To add to this, if he has been going to RSS shakha, he should know that of the six festivals RSS celebrates officially, the Hindu Samrajya Dinotsav is to celebrate his coronation as a Hindu King! We have thousands of fake claimants of being RSS swayamsevaks, especially in the political class.

I do not have a monitoring team. But I am reasonably sure that this mischief is widely spread. People like me cannot respond to each fake news; it saps energy and wastes time, and that is what these forces want. However, if this mischief is not highlighted somewhere or the other, such fake narratives may be taken as true by the gullible people.

The idea to besmirch the icons of Hindu society is going too far. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and his wife Savitribai Phule are accepted as revered social reformers in Maharashtra. Institutions set up by them are still doing sterling work for women and deprived sections of society. They have been called agents of the Church and so on. Raja Ram Mohan Roy and his Brahmo Samaj are being attacked as being followers of the Church, which is half the story. His successors brought Brahmo Samaj back to the spirituality of Sanatan, realizing their mistake in making it a church-like institution.

Each reformer did what he/she thought was correct in those times when Hindu society was in deep slumber and degrading in its social conduct. Should we judge them by today’s social conditions?

The way these hate mongers are going on, I won’t be surprised if they start attacking Swami Dayanand Saraswati soon, because his trenchant criticism of murti-puja and following of archaic rituals is very bitter. He rejected the caste system. The neo-Hindus believe that everything in Hindu society and its religions was fine till RSS came into the picture and worked hard for social harmony. Savarkar, too, was a bitter critic of casteism. He was against a blanket ban on cow slaughter. I am waiting for these new social scientists, who believe that they stand for the bitter truth, nothing but the truth, to criticize him. RSS says, caste is not the problem, casteism is the problem. Its third chief, Balasaheb Deoras, called for the removal of untouchability and casteism lock, stock, and barrel.

The ideas being propagated by the traditional neo-Hindus, ultra-Hindus, and enemies of Hindu unity and harmony will bring immense harm to the Hindu society. It has taken RSS 100 years to create a sense of unity and social harmony despite all attempts to divide the society. Hindu society cannot afford this luxury of extreme views. We can appeal to the genuine ultra-Hindus to be careful, but we cannot awaken the conscience of the people who may be earning revenue with such a hate-filled narrative.

My appeal to conscious Hindus is not to fall for these narratives but to respond to enemies of Sanatan society with a firm, objective response. Bharat cannot become a great nation if such divisive ideas succeed. We are at a point in Kaalchakra when we are poised to reach the top once again, not distracted by negative people. We cannot miss this golden period of history.
