On May 27, a novel case of Love Jihad emerged from the Amroha region of Uttar Pradesh, raising concerns over the safety of Hindu women in the region. A Hindu woman, from Kerala, was sexually
assaulted and exploited by an Islamist, identified as Farman, on the pretext of marriage, and was later forced to convert to Islam.
Farman's brothers, Faizan and Sarfaraz, also helped the accused to trap the Hindu woman, after which the state police booked all three under the relevant sections of the law. (Amroha Love Jihad)
Farman, a resident of Bakabad locality in Bachhraun town, trapped a woman from Kerala in a 'love affair' only to pressure her to convert to Islam. As per the reports, the accused had gone to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, five years ago to work at a salon. During his stay there, he came into contact with a Hindu woman, and the two entered into a 'relationship'. Later, Farman began sexually exploiting the woman on the false promise of marriage and also recorded obscene videos of her. (Amroha Love Jihad)
