Beed, Maharashtra: Rehan Shaikh in Kaij taluka sexually assaults 15-year-old; threatens to keep shut; arrested

A case of sexual assault on a minor girl has once again come to light from the Kaij taluka in Maharashtra's Beed district. The accused trapped and cornered the minor girl, called her to his home, established physical relations with her by force, threatened to make a video viral, and also threatened to kill her mother, father, and brother. As per the reports, the victim is a 15-year-old girl studying in school and residing in a part of the city. On April 14, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, the accused, identified as Rehan Riyaz Shaikh, traced her, threatened to kill her and her family members, called her to his home, and then forcibly established physical sexual relations with her. The accused further threatened to kill the girl's mother, father, and brother. He also threatened the girl to keep shut. (Kaij sexual assault case).
Additionally, the accused made a video call on the girl's mobile, shared his mobile screen, showed her a video of the sexual assault stored in his phone's pendant, and said "Now do the same", asking her to remove her clothes. When she refused, he threatened to make the video viral.

After this, on May 2, based on the victim's complaint, a case has been registered at Kaij Police Station against Rehan Riyaz Shaikh under CR No. 258/2026, Sections 74, 75, 76, 78(1), 79, 64(2)(i), 65(1), 351(2)(3) of the BNS, and under POCSO Act Sections 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. (Kaij sexual assault case).
As soon as the case was registered, the police took the accused into custody. Police Sub-Inspector Prakash Shelke of Pink Patrol is investigating this case. He was produced before the court and has been granted 3 days of police custody until May 6.
