Bareilly, UP: Gym brothers Akram & Alam Beg spike woman's pre-workout drink, rape, and blackmail her with explicit videos; arrested

In a disturbing incident from Bareilly, police have arrested a gym owner and his brother for allegedly drugging a woman using a pre-workout drink, sexually assaulting her, and later blackmailing her with explicit videos. The information was shared through the official X account of Bareilly Police.

The arrests were carried out by the Kotwali police station after a complaint was lodged on May 4 by a woman from Rampur Garden. She stated that she had been regularly visiting “Ultimate Fitness Gym” near Civil Lines, Bada Dak Khana, since 2024. (Bareilly sexual assault case)

According to her complaint, the gym owner, Akram Beg, would offer her a pre-workout drink before exercise sessions. She alleged that on several occasions, he mixed intoxicants into the drink, leading to her losing consciousness. He then allegedly took her to a room inside the gym, sexually assaulted her, and recorded explicit videos. (Bareilly sexual assault case)
 

The woman also accused Akram’s brother, Alam Beg, of being involved in the crime. After she stopped going to the gym upon discovering the acts, the accused allegedly threatened her with serious consequences, including harm to her family, and warned that the videos would be made public.
 
 

Police further stated that the accused initially demanded Rs 10 lakh, later increasing the amount to Rs 50 lakh, in exchange for deleting the videos. Under pressure, the victim reportedly paid around Rs 80,000.

Following the complaint, police registered a case (Crime No. 202/26) under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to assault, intimidation, and other criminal offences. On the directions of senior officials, a special team was formed, which subsequently arrested both accused with the assistance of surveillance inputs and informers.
 
 

During the operation, authorities recovered two pen drives, two mobile phones (including an iPhone and an Oppo device), nine stimulant vials, one revolver along with three cartridges, six injection vials, and Rs 10,000 allegedly obtained through blackmail. (Bareilly sexual assault case)

During questioning, Akram Beg reportedly confessed to befriending women at the gym, spiking their drinks with intoxicants, and assaulting them after they lost consciousness. He also admitted to recording videos and using them to extort money. His brother, Alam Beg, is said to have confessed to aiding in luring victims and facilitating the crimes.
