On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026, celebrated on June 21 under the theme 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing', Bengaluru-based wellness institution Akshar Yoga Kendraa,
founded by Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, made history by setting 21 Guinness World Records in yogasanas in a single day, making it the only organisation in the world to hold 21 such records.
As per the
reports, the landmark event drew thousands of participants from India and over 80 countries, including yoga practitioners, students, professionals, and senior citizens. The event built on the organisation's record-breaking legacy, having previously set 12 Guinness World Records on Yoga Day 2025. This year's attempt was described by Guinness World Records itself as its most ambitious project to date.
Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh, who has been personally trained by Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, extended her support to the initiative. She praised the effort on social media, commending the dedication, discipline, and teamwork behind organising such a large-scale event, and extended her best wishes to the entire team.
Rakul Preet also spoke about joining this initiative by Akshar Yoga Kendraa. In a post on her Instagram handle, the actor lauded this initiative, wishing for the success of the event. She said in the video, “Organising a community event of this scale requires dedication, discipline and teamwork. The effort by Akshar Yoga Kendra to attempt 21 Guinness World Records is truly commendable. My best wishes for the entire team and to Himalayan Siddha Akshar for great success.”
Putting all curiosity to rest, Rakul Preet offered her followers an insight into her yoga journey by sharing glimpses of her training sessions on her official social media handle on Yoga Day. The actor was seen practising various yoga poses under the guidance of Himalayan Siddha Akshar.
Among the yogasanas performed to set the new records were Bhadrasana, Adho Mukha Svanasana, Salabhasana, Garudasana, Ubhaya Padangustasana, and Eka Pada Padangustasana, each held simultaneously by hundreds of participants for one minute.
