A Hindu leader based in Maharashtra has reportedly been targeted for assassination by a Pakistan-linked terror-gangster network, with threats, surveillance, and an alleged "kill order" now on record. Sagar Beg, National President of the Rashtriya Shriram Sangh from Shrirampur in Ahilyanagar district, has been active for years in Hindutva and Sanatan-related movements across Maharashtra. His brother, Akash Beg, serves as a Shiv Sena corporator at present.

According to Beg, the trouble traces back to the murder of Aslam alias Bunty Jahagirdar, an accused in the Pune German Bakery blast case, who was involved in sending photographs of temples and army installations to Pakistan. Following Jahagirdar's killing, Beg's name was falsely linked to the murder. Police investigated the matter and subsequently cleared him of any involvement.

However, Beg states that despite being cleared, a narrative was deliberately spread through radical networks alleging that he was responsible for the killing and had "walked free." Rather than pursuing legal channels, those behind this narrative allegedly reached out to contacts in Pakistan, and, according to Beg, individuals described as Pakistan's most wanted responded.

The Pakistani terrorist gangsters involved in the incident have been identified as Hamman Memon and Anqareeb Rana, and also Abid Jatt and Shahzad Bhatti.

In the video of a death threat posted by Treeni and Akash Beg on social media, Memon can be heard saying, "He (Sagar Beg) got Haji sahab killed, and now he thinks we'll not take revenge? Beg is torturing Muslims in India, and we can't unsee it. The revenge against Haji Sahab's death will be taken by Rana. Beg is on my radar, and I'll kill him anytime soon."

In another video by Abid Jatt, the threat claims that no government or power can now save Sagar Beg. "You are now the target of Jatt. I'll kill you and f*** your family. My men have begun the job already.

Minors were chosen for the task to recce Beg's residence

As per the information obtained, on May 23, 2026, two men riding an unregistered black Splendor motorcycle allegedly entered Beg's residential complex and photographed his house, conducting a recce of his residence. Beg says these images were sent directly to Pakistan as part of what he describes as groundwork for an attack.

CCTV footage reportedly captured a 17-year-old boy photographing the residence. Speaking about the incident, Beg said that a minor was deliberately used for the task since a minor would not face police custody. The boy was released, and Beg claims that whoever provided him with the SIM card and phone has not been identified or apprehended yet.

A series of threat messages was received

Beg says he has received a series of recorded voice threats naming him directly. Among the threat messages are:

1. A threat stating that a man named Rana would kill him regardless of the security arrangements in place, and that no one would know who was responsible.

2. A message from a person identifying himself as Hammad Memon, claiming to be the brother of Abid Jatt and Shahzad Bhatti, warning that "Anqareeb" would target him.

3. A direct threat attributed to handler Abid Jatt, who claimed that no government or agency could protect Beg from him, and that the voice message itself was a declaration of his death.

4. Jatt also reportedly said that even gangster Lawrence Bishnoi fears him in another alleged threat sent to Beg.

Here's what Sagar Beg says

In an exclusive conversation with Treeni Media, Beg has stated that he is not seeking sympathy but is instead raising questions about the conduct of law enforcement. He said he does not fear anyone, but insists that police should carry out their duties honestly, calling it his only demand.

He also questioned why action has not been taken in line with recent high-profile raids elsewhere, referencing a case where a machine gun and Rs 5 crore in cash were reportedly recovered, and asking why similar decisive action, comparable to that seen under Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's administration, has not been taken in his case.

It is important to note that Maharashtra Police carried out a large-scale raid on July 12 on the residence of Baba Farzan, the dreaded don who once ruled Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with fear through the 1990s, uncovering huge stacks of cash stashed across the property. The operation comes six months after the notorious don passed away following a prolonged illness. Officials said that Sheela Ganpatrao Salve (52), Farzan's second wife, was home when the Crime Branch team arrived to search. It is believed that the raids continued for 21 hours, starting from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12.

It is important to note that on June 4, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained four youths from the Shrirampur area of Ahmednagar district and questioned them for more than 10 hours as part of its investigation into a Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)–Mumbai underworld module.

ATS officials had seized their mobile phones, laptops and other digital devices from the suspects, issued notices directing them to appear before the ATS office in Mumbai when required, and instructed them not to leave the district without informing investigators. Investigators subsequently discovered that all four had allegedly been contacted by Rana.

The investigations and raids had gained momentum after Rana and Bhatti issued initial threats to Beg. Jahagirdar, who was involved in illegal arms trafficking and had supplied weapons and logistics to terror operatives, was shot dead near St Luke's Hospital in Shrirampur on December 31, 2025.

The accused were linked to Pakistan-based Rana

Among those questioned by investigators on June 4 was Rehan Sajid Pathan, a resident of Nipani Vadgaon in Shrirampur taluka. It was found that a SIM card registered under his name was allegedly being used by a juvenile, Altamash Ayub Shaikh, who has been linked to a separate criminal case.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) also questioned Mustafa Farooq Tamboli, who reportedly admitted to receiving messages from a Pakistan-based Instagram account, adding that he had subsequently deleted the chats. His mobile phone has since been seized for forensic analysis.

Investigators also questioned Rahil Tanveer Shah after discovering that a SIM card registered in his mother's name was actually being used by him. Rahil reportedly told the ATS that he had received a WhatsApp call from a Pakistani number, during which the caller inquired about certain individuals from Shrirampur. He claimed that he did not disclose any information to the caller and later deleted the chat history linked to that number.

Another ATS raid questioning 112 linked to Bhatti on July 11

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Friday, July 11, questioned 112 people across the state as part of a coordinated operation probing their alleged links with Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti, officials said.

Teams from all 14 ATS units simultaneously carried out the operation on Friday morning, during which the identified individuals were questioned to verify the nature of their alleged association with Bhatti and gather further evidence, an ATS official said.

Bhatti is suspected of using social media platforms to allegedly influence youths towards anti-national activities, the official said. The investigation is underway, and further details are awaited, even in the given case.
