A case of stone-pelting on a moving train has come to light in Prayagraj. Near Alopibagh in Daraganj, some young men were caught on camera throwing stones at a goods train along the railway track. After the video of the entire incident surfaced, there was a stir within the railway administration, following which an investigation into the matter has been launched, and efforts are being made to identify the accused. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, July 18, and the video went viral starting Sunday, July 19, at 8 am.

As per the reports, some young men were standing near the railway track close to Alopibagh. During this time, a goods train was passing through the area. As soon as the train came in front of them, the young men started throwing stones at it. During the incident, someone present nearby recorded the entire episode on their mobile phone.
 

The video stirred online debate, raising concerns about the safety of the passengers. "Stone pelting on trains near Daraganj Alopibagh! A group of men targeting moving trains. Locals worried about repeated attacks. Passenger safety first! Police & Railways, time for concrete action," one of the users said.


"Like I said, camera is required both inside and outside," another user demanded.


"Lathi + belt Treatment. Sath mein jail bhi," one more read.


At present, it is not clear why the young men pelted stones at the goods train. The entire sequence of events is being investigated based on the video. After the video of the incident surfaced, a complaint was filed with the railway. Railway security agencies are investigating the matter and are also gathering information about the location of the incident.

Regarding this, Prayagraj RPF Inspector Amit Rana stated that the location where the incident reportedly occurred does not fall within his jurisdiction. Meanwhile, the RPF Prayag inspector said that the Daraganj area falls under NER (North Eastern Railway), so action will be taken by the concerned officer.
 

NER Inspector Dayashankar Yadav stated that the matter has come to his notice. It is not yet clear whether the incident site is indeed Daraganj. The location is being verified by examining the video, and further action will be taken based on that.

Meanwhile, according to sources connected to the railway, the railway administration has taken cognizance of the viral video. It is reported that the DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) of Prayagraj has been instructed to take necessary action in the matter. The Railway Protection Force and concerned officials are now working to identify the accused based on the video and prepare to take action.
