Student at CJP mocked for demanding 'merit-based, fair education system'; called 'andha bhakt', 'HIV'

On Friday, July 24, a video made rounds on social media in which 'journalist' Shyam Meera Singh could be seen calling out student protesters and comparing them to HIV/AIDS disease. He could be seen allegedly indicating that those who support the BJP-led government amid the ongoing CJP protest were as good as HIV, which is considered an incurable disease.
"Paper leaks have happened before this also. Even during the times when the Indian National Congress was in power. But nobody commented on the issue. It's good that now someone has raised the voice against this, and I hope something good comes out of this," the student could be heard saying in the video.
It is important to note that 'journalist' Shyam Meera Singh was a YouTuber earlier and was ordered by a Delhi Court to take down 'defamatory' videos that claimed minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted at Sadhguru's Isha Ashram. This is after the Isha Foundation had filed a defamation case against him. He was also cautioned by the Delhi Court in 2024 for contempt of court.
In the given case, earlier, the Delhi Police banned around 480 social media handles, including around 400 Twitter IDs and around 100 Instagram IDs, that were actively spreading fake news and misinformation amid the ongoing chaos at Delhi's Jantar Mantar led by the Cockroach Janata Party. The Police said that these are the same handles that were also active in spreading fake news during Operation Sindoor.
"We have noticed that misinformation is being circulated on various social media platforms. So far, we have identified over 480 Pakistani social media handles that are taking advantage of the current situation to spread rumours. We are getting these handles blocked. These are the same handles that were active during Operation Sindoor," the officer said, adding that Pakistan-based social media handles were taking advantage of the prevailing situation to circulate rumours, fake posts and edited videos with the intent of instigating people, particularly students.
The incident surfaced when 'Journalist' Shyam Meera Singh, earlier a YouTuber, now the founder of Strike Originals, was talking to a student who was demanding a "merit-based fair education system" at the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

He also carried a placard that read, "Do one thing Modi ji, create a fair education system. Just eliminate all the reservations in education. Let the selection be purely based on merit." To this, Singh shared a laugh and called the student 'Andha Bhakt' (a term widely used for an alleged blind follower of the BJP and PM Modi).

"Andha Bhakti jaati nh hai bhai," Singh said, mocking the student, further adding that the latter was standing in the protest, was against the paper leak, but was an 'andha bhakt'. "Andha Bhakti ko hatana HIV ko hatane jaisa hai jo kabhui theek nh ho sakta. (Removing blind devotion (blind faith) is like removing HIV, something that can never truly be cured)," he said.
