New Delhi, July 30: Delhi police have taken serious note of a report that has raised questions over the alleged involvement of Dubai-based businessman Mohammed Shaji in sponsoring the travel of 23 employees from the UAE to participate in a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

According to the reports, the employees, associated with Abreco Freight, travelled from Dubai to Delhi under the leadership of Irshad, Anfas, and Toyo. It is alleged that the group was provided with air tickets, accommodation, food, local travel, and other expenses, along with additional remuneration during their stay.
It is said that the employees participated in demonstrations linked to the CJP agitation and later celebrated what they described as the protest's "victory" following the resignation of a minister. It also raises questions about the source of funds allegedly used to sponsor the trip, citing reports of legal disputes involving cheque bounce and cheating cases against Shaji in Dubai. These allegations have not been independently verified.

This is the case, which draws comparisons with funding-related controversies surrounding the anti-CAA protests of 2019–20, including debates over the logistics and financing of demonstrations such as those at Shaheen Bagh.
