On Monday, August 3, a young woman from the Bhogaon police station area in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh,
filed a separate complaint with UP Police alleging that she was raped on the pretext of marriage and forced abortion. She said that she had filed a primary complaint in June this year, but the accused persons are yet to be arrested.
The victim, Shifa, filed a written complaint with the SP stating that she had lodged a complaint at Bhogaon police station on June 29, 2026. According to the allegation, a young man had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage, as a result of which she became pregnant. The accused also got her to undergo an abortion by reassuring her that they would marry her.

In this case, an FIR (Case No. 298/26) was registered at Bhogaon police station under Sections 69, 89, and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Arif Ali, Ahmad Ali, Mohammad Ali, and Rizwan Ali. The victim alleges that despite the case being registered, none of the accused have been arrested so far.
The victim says all the accused are moving about freely in the area, causing constant fear for her and her family. She alleged that she has approached Bhogaon police station multiple times demanding action, but the police send her back each time with assurances, without taking any concrete steps.
The victim has appealed to the SP to intervene in the matter, ensure the prompt arrest of the accused, and ensure fair action is taken. She says the alleged inaction of the police is emboldening the accused and delaying justice for her.
