Faridabad ,August 5: A day after 30-year-old teacher Sandhya Karhaja was brutally murdered inside Saraswati Senior Secondary School in Sikrona, Faridabad, her family has alleged that repeated complaints of harassment against the accused were ignored despite prior warnings.

According to police, 21-year-old Amit, a former student of a school where Sandhya had previously taught, entered the campus on Monday morning wearing a mask and allegedly posed as her husband to gain entry. He then dragged the teacher out of her classroom and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing on a motorcycle. He was arrested within two hours and has been remanded to three days of police custody.
Sandhya's husband, Vikas Karhaja, claimed the accused had been stalking and harassing her for nearly nine months after she rejected his advances. The family said they had earlier approached the police but withdrew the complaint after Amit's relatives assured them they would intervene. They further alleged that Amit later threatened to kill Vikas and questioned why his family has not been named in the FIR.

The murder has left Sandhya's family devastated. She is survived by her husband and two young children, aged five and three. Her mother said Sandhya had always dreamed of becoming a teacher, while her sister demanded the harshest possible punishment for the accused.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and further action will depend on evidence gathered during the accused's custody.
