In a bid to strengthen emergency preparedness and coordination among security agencies, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police joined forces with the National Security Guard (NSG) for a major anti-terror mock drill at Infosys's Phase 2 campus in Hinjawadi on Thursday, August 6.

The drill was overseen by senior officials from both the NSG and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, with Infosys's HR managers, security staff, and other company representatives also present.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Dheeraj Patil said the objective of the exercise was to build stronger coordination between agencies and enhance overall preparedness to counter any future terror-related threats.
Police officials said the drill was designed to evaluate readiness for a potential terror strike and familiarise all participating agencies with their designated roles during such a crisis. Leading the operation was the NSG's 26 Special Composite Group from Mumbai, which also deployed a helicopter as part of the exercise. Seventeen US military commandos, currently undergoing training with the NSG, also joined in.
Also taking part were teams from Force One, the Anti-Terrorism Branch (ATB), Quick Response Team (QRT), Riot Control Party (RCP), and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), along with staff from Hinjawadi Police Station and its Traffic Division.
The drill also drew participation from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's (PCMC) Disaster Management Department, the MIDC Hinjawadi Fire Brigade, Infosys's own security personnel, and ambulance services.

Through the exercise, participants were walked through the standard protocol to be followed in the event of a terror attack, including the responsibilities of first responders, establishing inner and outer security perimeters, managing traffic flow, bomb-detection processes, and how anti-terror units should respond.
