Disha Salian Case: Father Serves Rs 500 Crore Legal Notice On Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh

Mumbai, September 17 : Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, has served a Rs 500 crore legal notice on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh, alleging that their public remarks portrayed his pursuit of justice for his daughter as politically motivated.

  

The notice comes days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR in the case following directions for a fresh investigation. The FIR names Aaditya Thackeray, along with actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty, among others, as persons whose roles require investigation. Being named in the FIR does not by itself establish wrongdoing.

  

According to the notice, Satish Salian has alleged that Thackeray questioned the motives behind his legal efforts and described his pursuit of justice as politically motivated and intended to damage Thackeray's reputation.

 

The notice also alleges that Thackeray claimed the CBI had previously investigated the matter and given him a clean chit. It further refers to statements suggesting that Salian was being used as a tool to harass Thackeray.

 

 

 

The notice makes similar allegations against Anil Deshmukh, referring to a statement attributed to him on March 23, 2025, in which he reportedly described the Disha Salian case as a conspiracy to defame Aaditya Thackeray.

Satish Salian has sought Rs 500 crore in damages and demanded an unconditional and public apology from both leaders.

 

The notice reportedly seeks written and public apologies across major print, television and digital platforms. It also demands a video apology of at least three minutes to be posted on the official social media accounts of Thackeray and Deshmukh.

  

Disha Salian, 28, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a high-rise residential building in Mumbai's Malad area. Police initially registered the case as an Accidental Death Report. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, for whom Salian had worked as a manager, died six days later.

 

 

Salian's father later approached the Bombay High Court seeking an FIR and a fresh investigation into his daughter's death. His petition raised allegations involving several people, including Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi.

  

Aaditya Thackeray has denied knowing Disha Salian or having any connection with her. In a post on X on September 16, he said he had “never met or known” Salian and described the allegations linking him to the case as an evidence-free attempt at character assassination.
