In an alarming incident, the Kannur police have nabbed an illegal Bangladeshi migrant who was working at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, near Payyanur.
The Navy authorities reportedly became suspicious of Biplob’s behavior and kept him under observation. During detailed questioning on the morning of September 18, officials reportedly found documents and other materials on his mobile phone indicating his Bangladeshi nationality.

Authorities suspect that he had been staying and working in India without valid travel documents or a visa while allegedly concealing his actual nationality.

More alarmingly, he submitted a Police Clearance Certificate purportedly issued by the Murshidabad Police.
Crucially, this occurred while the TMC administration held power in West Bengal, under the current parliamentary representation of MP Abu Taher Khan.
The arrest comes after the Kannur police arrested five Bangladeshi women in the district over the past four days for staying in India without valid documents. Four of them were arrested on Thursday for illegally staying in Kannur and working at a spa in the city, while the fifth was arrested on Tuesday.
