Reclaiming Roots: 512 individuals embrace traditional faith in Keralam

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21: In what can only be described as a profound spiritual awakening and a resounding assertion of civilizational continuity, a remarkable 512 individuals have returned to Sanatana Dharma in Keralam.
The proceedings were coordinated on the ground by the Hindu Seva Kendram alongside the Adivasi Samrakshana Samithi.The organisations described the Ghar Wapsi as a voluntary decision by the participants to reconnect with their ancestral traditions and Sanatana heritage.

The transition process involved traditional purification rituals, known as shuddhikaran, and Vedic ceremonies conducted in local temples. Many of the returnees noted that generations ago, their families had adopted Christianity due to various socioeconomic pressures and missionary outreach prevalent in the region. However, over time, a growing number of descendants felt a deep cultural vacuum, missing the festivals, traditional rituals, ancestral worship, and philosophical frameworks that defined their forefathers' way of life.
