Madhya Pradesh: Six Hindu women in Rewa allege stalking, harassment and conversion pressure by Saif Pathan

Six Hindu women working in different companies have approached Amahiya police in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, alleging that a man named Saif Pathan repeatedly followed and harassed them. The women have also alleged that Pathan pressured them to convert to Islam despite their objections.

According to local and social media reports, the women, who are said to work in different companies, alleged that Pathan's office is located near their workplaces and that he had been following them for several days.
 
 
The complainants told police that Pathan continued approaching them despite being asked to stop. They have also alleged that he made unwanted remarks and pressured them to convert to Islam.
 
The women approached the police after, according to their complaint, the alleged behaviour continued and they began feeling unsafe.
 
Reports circulating on September 21 said the complaint was received at the Amahiya police station and that police had begun looking into the allegations.
 
 
The Rewa police investigation will now determine the identity of the accused, verify the women's statements and establish whether the alleged stalking, harassment or pressure to convert took place.
 
 
The Rewa case comes against the backdrop of a separate case reported in Bhopal, where police arrested Jumman Ansari, who used the name ‘Krish Jain’ on Instagram while befriending a 20-year-old woman.
  
According to the woman's complaint, the two remained in contact for about a year before Ansari took her to Delhi on the pretext of marriage.
 
The woman alleged that his identity was revealed at the Delhi railway station when he suggested going to a mosque for nikah. She objected, following which an altercation took place and Delhi GRP intervened.
 
Bhopal Police subsequently brought the woman back safely, while Ansari was arrested and sent to judicial custody, according to police and media reports.
