1,200 Litres of Suspected Adulterated Milk Seized in Jamnagar Raid

Jamnagar , Sept 30 : The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jamnagar Police has uncovered a suspected milk adulteration operation at a residential property in Kalavad and seized around 1,200 litres of suspected adulterated milk along with other materials.

The action was carried out following directions from Rajkot Range DIG Nirlipt Rai and Jamnagar Superintendent of Police Dr Ravi Mohan Saini as part of an ongoing drive against food adulteration.
 
According to police, the SOG team was conducting patrols in Kalavad town and nearby rural areas when it received information about suspected adulterated milk being prepared at a house near Shitala Mataji Temple in the Kapuriya area.
 
 
The team subsequently raided the premises belonging to Kanji alias Kano Depalbhai Malani. During the search, police found around 1,200 litres of suspected milk, along with 75 kg of vanaspati ghee and 75 kg of milk powder.
 
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SOG in-charge Police Inspector V.B. Chaudhary and Police Sub-Inspector L.M. Zera.

Following the seizure, the SOG informed the Food Safety Department. Food Safety officials reached the premises and collected samples of the suspected milk and other materials for examination.
 
The premises were subsequently subjected to the sealing process. Police said the suspected milk, vanaspati ghee and milk powder were destroyed at the site in the presence of a Food Safety Officer to prevent their further use and any potential risk to public health.
 
Further proceedings have been initiated against the person concerned under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act. The samples collected during the operation will be examined as part of the investigation.
