Faridabad Priest Murder Case Solved, Two Accused Arrested

Faridabad , Sept 30 : The Faridabad Police have solved the murder case of 65-year-old priest Om Prakash, who was found injured near a temple along the canal on Sector-30 Bypass Road. The Crime Branch, DLF, has arrested two suspects in connection with the case.

According to the police, the priest was allegedly attacked after he objected to a group of youths consuming drugs near the temple. The accused allegedly assaulted him and struck him on the head with a stone mortar and pestle, causing fatal injuries.
 
The incident took place during the night of August 30 and 31 near a temple located in a secluded area along the canal. Following the incident, a murder case was registered at Sector-31 police station based on a complaint filed by Ashok Kumar, a relative of the deceased.
 
 
 
During the investigation, the Crime Branch, DLF, arrested two accused identified as Asif alias TT, 20, a resident of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, and Asif alias Kalia, 34, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
 
Police said both accused currently reside in Kisan Mazdoor Colony in Faridabad and work as auto-rickshaw drivers.
According to the police investigation, the two arrested accused were allegedly consuming drugs near the temple along with two other persons on the night of the incident. Priest Om Prakash reportedly objected to their activities and asked them to leave the area.

Police said the four men allegedly followed the priest and assaulted him near the temple. During the assault, he was allegedly hit on the head with a stone mortar and pestle. He later died from the injuries. The accused allegedly fled the spot after the incident with some of the priest's belongings.
 
Police have identified two other suspects allegedly involved in the murder and are conducting raids at possible locations to arrest them.
 
The two arrested accused will be produced before a court and taken on police remand. During the remand period, investigators will question them about the incident and the alleged role of the other suspects. Further action will be taken based on the investigation.
