Woman Alleges Identity Concealment, Sexual Assault and Pressure to Convert in Madhya Pradesh

Satna, Sept 30 : A woman from Madhya Pradesh has approached the police alleging that a man she met through Instagram concealed his religious identity, sexually assaulted her and pressured her to convert to Islam for marriage. The complaint was filed at Pathri police station on September 25.
According to the complaint, the woman, a resident of Sarai Mohalla in Satna district, came in contact with a man named Shahrukh through Instagram around four years ago. She alleged that he initially used the name 'Aman Singh' and presented himself under that identity.
The woman stated that she remained in contact with Shahrukh for several years. According to her complaint, his Instagram account was changed to the name 'Shahrukh' in 2024, although he continued to identify himself as Aman.
She alleged that on September 13, she left her home to meet him, believing that they would get married. She reached Delhi Railway Station around 5 am the next day, where Shahrukh allegedly met her and took her to a room in Haridwar.

According to the complaint, Shahrukh subsequently told her that he was Muslim and that she would have to convert to Islam if she wanted to marry him. The woman alleged that she refused to convert and was sexually assaulted by him.
She further alleged that Shahrukh's mother and brother also pressured her to accept Islam. When she refused, she claimed that she was confined to a room with the assistance of another man identified as Sameer.
The woman told police that she remained confined for around three days and was not provided food during that period.

According to the complaint, the woman was found unconscious at a hospital on September 18. She alleged that Shahrukh arrived at the hospital the following day and took her away in his vehicle before leaving her unconscious at an unknown location.
After regaining consciousness, she contacted her brother and informed her family about the incident. Her family subsequently brought her back and approached the police.
Pathri police station in-charge Ravindra Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered against Shahrukh, his mother, his brother and Sameer. Police teams are searching for the accused and investigating the allegations made in the complaint.
