First Split Hits Cockroach Janta Party, Rebel Faction Floats CJP-D

New Delhi, Sept 4: The newly formed Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which emerged from the recent youth-led protests over examination and education issues, has suffered its first internal split with a rebel faction launching the Cockroach Janta Party-Democratic (CJP-D).
Brahmbhatt alleged that several members of the CJP leadership had earlier associations with the Aam Aadmi Party and claimed the organisation was increasingly being used to oppose the BJP. He also accused the leadership of excluding volunteers who had participated in the movement's earlier protests.
The allegations, however, have not been independently established. Dipke has acknowledged his past association with the AAP but has maintained that he no longer has any connection with the party. The CJP had not formally responded to Brahmbhatt's latest allegations at the time of the reports.
The split comes at a crucial time for the CJP, which has expanded from an online satirical initiative into a youth movement focusing on unemployment, examination irregularities and government-school conditions. Its “School Thik Karo” campaign has recently brought attention to poor infrastructure in Rajasthan schools.
The emergence of CJP-D is likely to raise questions over the organisation's internal democracy, leadership structure and political direction.
