New Delhi, Aug 1: A unique, first-of-its-kind World Rakshabandhan Diwas (WRD) will be celebrated at Talkatora Stadium here on August 17 to spread the message of universal peace, brotherhood and protecting and honouring women.
Disclosing this, Indresh Kumar, the moving spirit behind this mega festival, said that this festival is expected to be attended by intellectuals and representatives drawn from over 40 countries besides India. The total gathering is expected to be between five to seven thousand, he added.
During his address at a seminar on “Peace, People and Possibilities in Kashmir” he said that a day before Rakshabandhan, a World Rakshabandhan Day will be organised at Talkatora Stadium.
Extending invitation he said, “You all are invited to first World Raksha Bandhan festival,” to the audience at the two-day event that concluded on Saturday. “It would be amazing, unique and true,” he said.
“Representatives from more than 30-40 countries and intellectuals, litterateurs and people like you and I will be attending the event.” Kumar said, “Raksha Bandhan is a festival which can provide the way for answers to many global problems.” “This would be a successful experiment and don’t come alone, bring along your children and others also,” he added.
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing going on for the successful organisation of the event being organised for the first time at such a massive level in the National Capital. A meeting of the prominent activists associated with this festival is planned in the national capital on August 8.
Prominent activists from various organisations including Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Rashtriya Ekta Mission, Forum for Awareness of National Security, Himalaya Parivar, Bharat-Tibet Sahayog Manch, etc. are taking an active part in organising this unique festival.
